Paris Hotels: Voting for this year’s World’s Best Awards survey was open from January 11 through May 10, 2021, while COVID-19 limitations were being lifted in various locations across the world. Readers have always been able to consider their three-year trip experiences thanks to survey regulations. As you re-enter the world, we hope that this year’s awardees will motivate your own journeys.
For readers of Travel + Leisure, the greatest hotels in Paris are located on the right bank of the Seine, often known as Rive Droite. In fact, their choices for locations are much more specialised than that: all 10 of the Paris hotels recognised by the World’s Best Awards are located in the city’s First, Eighth, and 16th Arrondissements.
In other words, T+L readers choose to stay on some of the city’s poshest streets, such Rue Saint-Honoré, where our No. 2 hotel, Mandarin Oriental, Paris, is located, close to the river, the Louvre, the Jardins des Tuileries, and the Arc de Triomphe. This hotel has a number of opulent suites, notably the four-bedroom Haussman-style Parisian Apartment, as well as one of the most romantic courtyards (at its indoor/outdoor restaurant, Camélia).
T+L invites readers to weigh in on travel experiences across the world every year for our World’s Best Awards poll. Readers are asked to express their ideas on the best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Hotels were evaluated based on their amenities, surroundings, staff, cuisine, and overall value. Based on their locations and features, properties were divided into city and resort categories.
Another winner may be found on Rue de Rivoli, which runs parallel to Rue Saint-Honoré in the First Arrondissement: Le Meurice (No. 7). Due to its proximity to the Tuileries, one responder said the hotel’s location was excellent. The staff’s desire to go above and above for visitors was praised by other readers as well. The Eighth Arrondissement had a good year; in fact, our reader-selected No. 1 hotel, which has a desirable address off the Champs-Élysées, is located there. Le Bristol Paris, which one reader said you “simply cannot beat,” is only a block away, amongst some of the city’s greatest shops and trendiest restaurants.
Another classic Haussmann-style building, the Hôtel Plaza Athénée (No. 3), on the other side of the Champs-Élysées, recently added 25 freshly refurbished apartments to what one reader termed its “stunning facilities.” One reader noted that the personalised service at the Peninsula Paris (No. 6) is “attentive without being overbearing.” Another attraction is that visitors may dine at the Secret Table, which is located at the top of the hotel and offers stunning views of the Eiffel Tower, and sample the exquisite cuisine of chef David Bizet.
All of these winners exemplify French sophistication and savoir-faire, but only one received a remarkable score of 98.60. Continue reading to view the complete list and, of course, discover why La Réserve Paris – Hotel & Spa is our readers’ top pick for a hotel in Paris.
