We adore the new ship from Disney Cruise Line since it is unique. The new Disney Wish is the brand’s greatest ship ever, and it was chosen as the top large-ship ocean cruise line in the 2022 World’s Greatest Awards.
The hallmarks of Disney that have made this cruise line so well-known are there, including visits by Mickey and his cronies, a deck party with fireworks, themed dining options for all ages, and personal care from every cast member. But with a delicate combination of refinement and whimsy, the Disney Wish enhances the Disney Cruise Line experience.
The Disney Cruise ship’s motif of enchantment, a theme central to many classic Disney films, is explained by Imagineers and Disney Cruise Line executives when interviewed on board. This motif can be found in the staterooms, restaurants, common areas, and the Grand Hall, which resembles a castle and is the first place guests see when boarding on the day of their voyage.
It’s like walking into a fantasy when you board the Disney Wish and enter the Grand Hall. A chandelier that looks like Cinderella’s ball gown lies in the centre of the enormous, atrium-like room, which also has towering columns that rise to a constellation-patterned ceiling. At the foot of the staircase is a statue of the title character. You may even see a princess or a prince waving to you from the balcony as you enter the lovely and colourful room. Here, the mood for the voyage is established as you are immediately drawn into the imaginative world of Disney Cruise tales in a chic, contemporary environment that is suitable for all ages.
We really do mean it when we claim that there is something for visitors of all ages. Disney has perfected the art of fusing characters, movie franchises, and experiences that young families, teenagers, and even people travelling without children would love with its newest ship. There are fun places for kids from six months to 17 years old, from the cute It’s a Small World nursery to the tween and teen-focused Edge and Vibe rooms. Disney’s Oceaneer Club, accessible via a slide from the Grand Hall, also has rooms decorated in the styles of Marvel, Star Wars, and princesses, as well as a Disney Cruise has a Mickey playground and the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, where youngsters can discover the tricks of the trade and engage in STEAM-based activities.
Laura Cabo, a portfolio creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, pointed out every special feature that makes the Oceaneer Club such a fun and engaging setting for kids as we strolled around the area. These features included minute elements that only a trained eye could see.
Even in adult settings, this level of detail is present. The Disney Wish’s Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge may be the most eagerly awaited bar since it serves drinks that are based on the worlds that visitors may observe via the viewport while they aren’t travelling through hyperspace.
The cocktail lists at Nightingale’s, a piano bar with ‘Cinderella-related accents, and The Bayou, a gorgeous lounge with ‘The Princess and the Frog’-related inspirations, are wonderful and diversified, with enjoyable concoctions including distinctive ingredients. You may get delightful, fashionable cocktails all throughout the ship, such as sparkling beverages with edible glitter and spritzes with popsicle flavouring. In a lovely setting reminiscent of “Beauty and the Beast,” the adult-only Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by chef Arnaud Lallement provide gourmet cuisine.
The tasting menu, which featured some of the dishes you could get at the renowned restaurant he runs in Champagne, France, was exquisite, and it came with a view of the endless ocean just outside the panoramic windows. We got the opportunity to dine with the renowned three-Michelin-starred chef. The adults-only deck and pool area, Untangled Salon, Hook’s Barbery, Senses Spa, and Senses Fitness Centre provide additional adult entertainment and relaxation, demonstrating that a Disney cruise is as enjoyable for adults.
Several Disney Cruise firsts may be found in the ship’s family-friendly areas, including In addition to AquaMouse, the first-ever Disney seaside attraction, there is a Broadway-style rendition of “The Little Mermaid,” Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, which is Disney’s first Frozen-themed dining adventure and features singing, dancing, and a cute Olaf.
There is also the first-of-its-kind, two-story Wish Tower Suite, which is styled after “Moana,” situated in the ship’s front funnel and has space for up to eight people. In addition, there are additional suites and cabins with concierge service, as well as four stunning Royal Suites. No of the style of accommodation, though, visitors will appreciate thoughtfully created staterooms with fairy-tale accents; even the hallway rugs have emblems from films like “Tangled” and “Cinderella.” The movie-inspired accents are adorable and whimsical but not excessive, and the rooms still have a contemporary, sophisticated, and airy feel about them.
Travelling has been difficult the past two years, so in many ways, a Disney Wish cruise seems like a break from the anxiety of organising family vacations. There’s something so comforting about boarding a ship and knowing that everything will be taken care of, from meal preparation to child care, even if I adore doing the research and preparing. The Disney Wish seems like a high-end experience with its Michelin-rated cuisine, lovely accommodations, top-notch entertainment, and fanciful touches.
